Universal Hollywood to Add Sound Barrier After Resident Complaints
Universal Studios Hollywood has pledged to erect an additional sound barrier around its latest attraction following complaints from local residents about noise from riders.

Universal Studios Hollywood has committed to constructing a new sound barrier around its latest attraction after local residents complained about noise generated by riders. In a meeting attended by at least 350 people yesterday, park officials also stated that the "Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift" ride will not operate between 8 AM and 9 AM for the remainder of the year, according to Deadline.
Several mitigation efforts were already in place for the ride, which opened on September 16. These included an existing sound barrier and designing the ride to minimize operational noise. The cars were also designed to face away from residential areas.
Local residents expressed their dissatisfaction, stating that the sounds from the attraction travel far and disrupt their daily lives. Park representatives met with residents to address these concerns and proposed various solutions to reduce noise levels.
The park management is seeking to balance the excitement of new attractions with the comfort of the local community. The additional measures, including the new sound barrier and restricted operating hours, aim to alleviate the complaints and allow the attraction to operate with less disruption.
