University Medical Center Göttingen Adopts New Clinical Data Utilization Model
University Medical Center Göttingen (UMG) is the first hospital in Germany and the EU to implement MDClone's ADAMS platform, enhancing secure access to clinical data for research and patient care.

University Medical Center Göttingen (UMG) has implemented MDClone's ADAMS platform, becoming the first university hospital in Germany and the European Union to adopt the internationally recognized data utilization model. The platform will build upon UMG's existing data integration center, UMG-MeDIC, making consolidated clinical data more accessible and secure for research, patient care, and quality management.
The ADAMS platform allows authorized staff to independently explore longitudinal clinical data within a controlled and secure environment. This reduces reliance on central IT or analytics resources for individual analyses, accelerating data access for research questions, treatment pathway development, quality improvements, and clinical process analysis.
A key feature is the generation of synthetic data. Based on real clinical data, the ADAMS platform can create synthetic datasets that mirror the original data's statistical properties without sharing actual patient records. This opens new avenues for research, AI application development, and collaboration with other scientific institutions and external partners, while strengthening data protection.
UMG previously established UMG-MeDIC as part of the national Medical Informatics Initiative (MII). By integrating ADAMS, UMG is systematically advancing this infrastructure with a new utilization layer, ensuring that investments yield lasting impact beyond individual funding periods.
