University of Phoenix Vice Provost Discusses Learning Mobility at AACRAO Conference

Marc Booker, Ph.D., Vice Provost for Strategy at the University of Phoenix, participated in "The Assembly," the American Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers (AACRAO) annual conference focused on learning mobility. Dr. Booker led two discussions aimed at assisting institutions in recognizing and evaluating prior learning and transfer credits.

AACRAO is a non-profit association dedicated to making higher education more responsive to learner needs. The conference brought together higher education leaders and practitioners to explore policies, practices, and innovations that support learner mobility and acknowledge learning acquired through diverse educational and professional experiences.

Booker's sessions provided overviews of transfer articulation practices for professionals new to the field. Further discussions explored the similarities and distinctions between credit for prior learning and competency-based education, aiming to help institutions develop processes that recognize learning acquired through various pathways.

Booker has held leadership positions within higher education, including roles within the Pacific Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers (PACRAO). He has received multiple awards for his contributions to educational leadership and strategy.
