Unlikely Collaborators Awards $7.2 Million in Grants to 52 Nonprofits

Unlikely Collaborators has awarded $7.2 million in grants to 52 nonprofit organizations across the United States. This funding, which includes 26 new partners and continued support for 26 existing organizations, marks the conclusion of the organization’s first national request for proposals.

The grants are intended to facilitate the application of the Perception Box framework, an initiative developed by CEO Elizabeth R. Koch. The framework encourages individuals to examine the personal beliefs, experiences, and assumptions that shape their perception of themselves and the world around them.

The recipient organizations represent a wide range of sectors, including hospitals, schools, correctional facilities, and crisis support services. By utilizing diverse methods such as mindfulness, theater, and dialogue, these programs aim to foster greater self-awareness. CEO Elizabeth R. Koch noted that the diversity of these organizations allows for a nuanced approach to applying the framework within varied communities.
