Updated BMW 7 Series Sedan Enters Production in Germany
The updated BMW 7 Series sedan has officially begun production at BMW's Dingolfing plant in Germany. The model integrates technologies from the upcoming 'Neue Klasse' generation.

BMW has announced the start of production for its updated 7 Series sedan at its manufacturing facility in Dingolfing, Germany. This marks a significant step as it is the first time technologies derived from the forthcoming 'Neue Klasse' generation are being incorporated into an existing series production vehicle.
The company has outlined plans to implement the 'Neue Klasse' technology across 40 of its models by the end of 2027. This strategic rollout aims to modernize BMW's vehicle lineup and maintain its competitive edge in the automotive market.
The refreshed 7 Series offers extensive customization options, including over 500 exterior paint color choices and two-tone combinations. The interior can be configured with approximately 700 different material and trim combinations, featuring materials such as leather, metal, and crystal glass.
A new two-tone, layered painting process has been introduced on the production line, allowing for the application of both matte and high-gloss finishes on the same vehicle body. This complex paint job requires over 4500 minutes per car, with approximately 2000 minutes dedicated to manual labor.
For the fully electric i7 xDrive60, the new battery technology enhances both range and charging capabilities. The vehicle achieves a WLTP range of up to 727 kilometers, and its battery can be charged from 10% to 80% in approximately 28 minutes.
