UPM-Kymmene completes partial demerger, WISA Group to list on Nasdaq Helsinki
UPM-Kymmene Corporation has finalized its partial demerger, clearing the path for the new entity, WISA Group Plc, to begin trading on the Nasdaq Helsinki exchange.
The Finnish Trade Register officially registered the partial demerger of UPM-Kymmene Corporation on October 31, 2026. This legal separation, initially proposed in April 2026, transfers a designated portion of UPM's assets and liabilities to the newly formed WISA Group Plc.
Following the registration, WISA Group Plc is set to operate as an independent entity listed on Nasdaq Helsinki. The move represents a structural shift for the forestry giant, allowing the new company to pursue its own operational and financial strategy.
The separation follows months of planning after UPM shareholders approved the demerger plan earlier this year. The transition marks a significant reorganization of UPM's portfolio, with the market now awaiting the commencement of WISA Group's independent share trading.
