Upstox enables US stock investing for Indian users
Online stockbroking platform Upstox has launched US stock investing on its platform following approval from IFSCA. Indian investors can now access thousands of US stocks and ETFs.

Online stockbroking platform Upstox has launched trading in US-listed stocks and ETFs for Indian investors, weeks after receiving approval from the International Financial Services Centres Authority (IFSCA).
The new offering allows Indian users to invest in over 8,000 US stocks and more than 2,000 ETFs, including shares of major companies like Apple, Tesla, Amazon, and Alphabet. Investing can start with as little as $1 through fractional share purchases.
The service will operate through the GIFT City framework, India's special economic zone for financial services. Global investments will be facilitated by Upstox Securities' IFSC branch, an IFSCA-authorized broker-dealer.
This move positions Upstox alongside other Indian brokerages, such as INDmoney and HDFC Securities, that already provide access to US securities. Competitors Zerodha and Groww are also preparing to launch similar international investment offerings after securing IFSCA approvals.
