US AI recorder startup Plaud launches in Indonesia
US-based AI wearable recording device maker Plaud has launched operations in Indonesia, introducing its Plaud Note Pro and NotePin S models as part of its Southeast Asia expansion strategy.
San Francisco-based AI wearable recording device maker Plaud officially launched its operations in Indonesia on September 29, 2026. The company introduced its Plaud Note Pro and NotePin S devices as part of a broader expansion into the Southeast Asian market.
The devices are designed to record phone calls and in-person conversations, subsequently converting them into transcripts, summaries, and action points. Plaud's technology supports over 112 languages, including Bahasa Indonesia, Javanese, and Sundanese.
The Plaud Note Pro is priced at 3.5 million rupiah (approximately US$200), while the NotePin S is available for 3.4 million rupiah (approximately US$190). The products will be sold through nearly 70 retail partner stores, including Urban Republic, Gramedia, and iBox.
Sales will also be conducted online via platforms such as Shopee, TikTok Shop, Tokopedia, and Blibli, in addition to Plaud's dedicated Southeast Asia website. The launch also brings attention to data privacy concerns, as Indonesia's personal data protection law applies to the processing of voice recordings and AI-generated transcripts.
