US AI Startup ByteAsk Raises $1 Million in Pre-Seed Funding
ByteAsk, a San Francisco-based artificial intelligence startup developing coding agents for C and C++, has secured $1 million in pre-seed funding. The round was led by Y Combinator.
ByteAsk, an artificial intelligence startup headquartered in San Francisco, has announced the closure of a $1 million pre-seed funding round. The company specializes in creating AI coding agents designed for C and C++ programming languages.
The funding round saw participation from Y Combinator, Entrepreneur First, and several angel investors associated with global quantitative trading firms. ByteAsk stated that its code-verifying tool is intended for developers working in critical sectors, including defense, aerospace, finance, embedded systems, automotive, and semiconductors.
ByteAsk was founded by Anirudha Kulkarni and Pratyush Saini. The pair previously co-founded LawSutra AI, a legal AI startup that was acquired by Manupatra, an Indian online legal research company. The company intends to utilize the newly acquired capital to expand its engineering and research teams, with operations planned in both San Francisco and Bengaluru.
Further investment will be directed towards graphics processing unit compute power, training data, and robust security, privacy, and on-premises infrastructure for enterprise clients. ByteAsk was also selected to participate in Y Combinator's Fall 2026 cohort.
