US Coast Guard Awards TWIC Reader Contract to MozaicID
Parroco Production Group, Inc. (MozaicID) has secured a contract from the U.S. Coast Guard to provide software and system support for TWIC readers.
Chesapeake, Va. – Parroco Production Group, Inc., operating as MozaicID, has been awarded a contract by the U.S. Coast Guard for Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) handheld biometric reader software and system support services.
The contract extends MozaicID's previous work with the Coast Guard, following earlier mobile TWIC reader contracts awarded in 2008 and 2018. Under the new agreement, MozaicID will supply comprehensive software and system support for the Coast Guard's MozaicID MCR V3 handheld biometric readers. Services encompass software updates, maintenance of required certifications, secure data management, and a dedicated web-based reporting portal for Coast Guard personnel.
As part of this contract, MozaicID will update all Coast Guard TWIC readers to support ECC P-384 cryptography, a requirement from the Transportation Security Administration (TSA). The MozaicID MCR V3 is a standalone mobile reader that electronically validates TWIC, CAC, PIV, and PIV-I credentials, along with biometrics, without needing Wi-Fi or cellular connectivity.
MozaicID's credential verification solutions are utilized by the U.S. Coast Guard, U.S. seaports, cruise lines, and major chemical plants and oil refineries. The company has a history of being an early market entrant for new TWIC solutions.
