The U.S. startup landscape saw a robust funding week, with four companies successfully closing rounds exceeding $1 billion. Leading the pack was Elon Musk's tunnel-drilling venture, The Boring Co., which secured $3 billion in a Series D funding round.
Artificial intelligence software company Cognition followed, raising $2 billion. Fleet management provider Motive also attracted substantial investment, securing $1.3 billion, while reusable rocket developer Stoke Space closed a $1 billion round.
Significant capital also flowed into U.S. solar manufacturing, defense technology, legal AI, and the chip and networking infrastructure essential for artificial intelligence development.
The Boring Co. intends to use its $3 billion funding to advance its underground tunnel networks designed for transportation. Cognition is focused on developing AI agents capable of complex software engineering tasks.
