LOS ANGELES – The University of Southern California (USC) announced September 30, 2026, that David Madigan has been named provost and executive vice president for academic affairs. Megan Jordan was also appointed senior vice president and chief communications officer, having served in an interim capacity since January.
These appointments are intended to strengthen USC's leadership at a pivotal time for the university, focusing on advancing academic excellence, research, and innovation. Madigan will officially begin his new role on October 13. His prior experience includes provost positions at Northeastern University and leadership roles at Columbia University.
A respected statistician, Madigan brings extensive experience in leading academic institutions and fostering interdisciplinary collaboration. He will hold the Shelly and Ofer Nemirovsky Provost's Chair and will also serve as a professor at the USC Marshall School of Business.
Jordan, an alumna of USC, has been working to unify the university's communication efforts. Her objective is to enhance USC's academic impact and public perception. She previously held various communications and leadership positions, including vice president of executive communications at USC.
