VAHDAM Targets 10 Billion Rupees Revenue in India After Global Expansion

Global Indian wellness brand VAHDAM is preparing to expand into its home market after more than a decade of international success. The company aims to build a 10 billion rupee (approximately $120 million USD) business in India by fiscal year 2029, focusing on India's traditional herbs and botanicals.

The company's strategy was unconventional at its founding in 2015. Instead of first targeting domestic consumers, VAHDAM built its brand in markets like the US, Canada, and Europe. Founder Bala Sarda believed in the power of the internet to create a digital-first Indian brand for a global audience.

Today, VAHDAM sells products in over 180 countries, expanding its portfolio beyond tea to include coffee, herbal infusions, and wellness supplements. Revenue was approximately 350 crore rupees (around $4.2 million USD) in FY26, and the company is profitable. Recently, India's contribution to revenue has grown from less than 4%, and VAHDAM has established a dedicated India team.

"Our India business is already 2.5X larger than it was last year, and we are on track to reach a 1 billion rupee annual run rate by the end of FY27," Sarda stated. A prior setback for the company involved several years of losses in FY22-FY24 due to excess inventory post-pandemic, prompting a strategic review of growth and product portfolio.

VAHDAM aims to capitalize on India's growing interest in preventive wellness. The goal is 10 billion rupees in revenue by FY29, positioning India as the company's next significant growth engine.
