Valdo Lehari steps down as ENPA Vice President
Valdo Lehari, a long-serving executive at the European Newspaper Publishers' Association (ENPA), has retired from his role as Vice President. Matthias Ditzen-Blanke has been elected as his successor.

Valdo Lehari, publisher of the Reutlinger General-Anzeiger and a board member of the Federal Association of Digital Publishers and Newspaper Publishers (BDZV), has stepped down from his position as Vice President of the European Newspaper Publishers' Association (ENPA). Lehari had served the organization for many years, holding roles such as President and Vice President.
During ENPA's statutory meeting and general assembly in Brussels on May 19, Matthias Ditzen-Blanke, Chairman of the BDZV Executive Board and publisher of the Nordsee-Zeitung, among others, was elected as the new Vice President.
Lehari was also appointed Honorary President of ENPA during the same event. Matthias Ditzen-Blanke highlighted Lehari's commitment to establishing favorable conditions for a diverse digital press in Europe. He noted Lehari's achievements, including the reduction of VAT on digital press products and his contributions to new regulations like the Digital Services Act and the Digital Markets Act.
Dr. Jörg Eggers, CEO and Chairman of the BDZV, characterized Lehari as a publisher who has shaped media policy for decades, emphasizing his regional roots, European perspective, and consistent approach to issues. Eggers stated that Lehari consistently demonstrated that a free press requires reliable economic foundations, fair rules, political independence, and perseverance.
