Valiant Lady to undergo dry dock upgrades, including new Indian restaurant

Paramount Cruises has confirmed that the Valiant Lady, part of the Virgin Voyages fleet, will undergo a comprehensive dry dock refurbishment starting May 9, 2026. The two-week refit aims to enhance the ship's offerings ahead of the busy summer season, with the vessel returning to service on May 25 with several key upgrades.

The most significant addition during the dry dock period will be the launch of Ariya, Virgin Voyages' inaugural Indian restaurant at sea. This new dining venue will operate within the existing Razzle Dazzle space during the evenings, accommodating up to 220 guests. Razzle Dazzle will continue to serve breakfast and brunch during the day.

Ariya's concept is inspired by the heritage of Sir Richard Branson's ancestors from India. The restaurant's interior design features warm color palettes, intricate textures, and semi-private dining areas, drawing inspiration from traditional Indian craftsmanship and culture.

The menu has been developed in collaboration with acclaimed chef Maneet Chauhan, blending authentic regional Indian flavors with contemporary culinary techniques. Signature dishes announced include lamb shank biryani, Goan curried mussels, and tandoori pistachio-crusted fish. The restaurant will also offer a variety of vegetarian options and innovative desserts like gulab jamun cheesecake.

Beyond the new restaurant, the dry dock is expected to include upgrades to public spaces, such as enhancements to the Roundabout area designed to improve flow and ocean views. The Athletic Club may also receive modifications. Following the refurbishment, the Valiant Lady is scheduled to resume its Mediterranean and Caribbean itineraries.
