Valley North Project Open Houses to Showcase Potential Routes

Valley Link has announced a new series of open houses scheduled for November across West Virginia, Maryland, and Virginia. The events are designed to inform the public about the Valley North Project, which involves constructing approximately 260 miles of new 765-kilovolt (kV) transmission line and two new substations.

The project was selected by PJM Interconnection as part of its efforts to strengthen the regional electric transmission system and ensure reliability. Feedback from over 6,500 participants during the initial round of outreach this summer, combined with environmental and land-use data, has helped refine broader study segments into specific potential routes.

Attendees at the upcoming open houses will have the opportunity to review potential route options, ask questions, and provide direct feedback to the project team. Landowners whose properties are within 1,000 feet of the proposed routes have been specifically notified. Project organizers emphasize that input from these sessions will be used to further refine route selections.

Information about the project, including maps as they become available, can also be accessed online at vltransmission.com/valley-north, where feedback can be submitted. Those unable to attend the events can contact the project team through the website.
