Valmet to Supply Board Making Line to Sun Paper in China
Valmet will deliver a complete board making line, automation, and lifecycle support to Sun Paper for its mill in Nanning, China. Production is scheduled to start in fall 2027.
Valmet has secured an order to supply a full board making line, including automation and lifecycle support, to Sun Paper for its facility in Nanning, China. The investment aims to increase the company's containerboard production capacity and ensure reliable, energy- and resource-efficient operations.
The new line is expected to begin production in the fall of 2027. Valmet's delivery encompasses the entire machine, from headboxes to winders. Key technologies include the 'Sleeve roll' system for efficient dewatering in the forming section and a compact dryer section designed for high performance and product quality, along with reduced energy consumption.
"The high-capacity machine concept and selected advanced technologies support our targets for energy-efficient and stable production. We value the long-standing relationship we have built with Valmet and look forward to continuing our cooperation with this new project," stated Ying Guangdong, Vice General Manager and Chief Engineer of Sun Paper.
The order also includes comprehensive lifecycle services, spare parts, digital services, and paper machine clothing. Valmet highlights that the automation solutions are designed to ensure production efficiency and machine safety, facilitating the mill's transition towards higher levels of autonomy. The financial terms of the order were not disclosed.
