Valmet to supply process technology for Century Sunshine's pulp mill in China
Valmet has secured a contract to provide key fiberline and recovery systems for Century Sunshine’s new Rizhao pulp mill in Shandong province.
Valmet is set to provide core production technology for Century Sunshine’s upcoming pulp mill in Rizhao, Shandong province. The delivery includes cooking and fiberline systems, an evaporation plant, a recovery boiler with optimization features, ash treatment capabilities, and a white liquor plant.
The installation is part of Century Sunshine’s three-phase “Paper-for-Plastic” investment strategy, which aims to boost annual paper production capacity by 2.65 million tonnes. The project seeks to transition manufacturing away from plastics in favor of fiber-based packaging solutions.
By providing integrated technology designed for high production flexibility, Valmet aims to support the facility's operational efficiency. This contract represents a significant development in the broader industry trend toward replacing traditional plastic-based materials with pulp-derived alternatives in China.
