Valve expands SteamOS support to more handheld PCs
Valve released SteamOS 3.8.25 Beta, adding improved support for several handheld gaming PCs, including Intel-based devices.
Valve continues to expand SteamOS support to a wider range of third-party handheld gaming PCs. The latest update, SteamOS 3.8.25 Beta, released over the weekend, brings improved compatibility for several new and existing devices.
Among the newly supported handhelds is MSI's Claw 8 EX AI+, a powerful Intel Arc G3 processor-based gaming PC. This update signifies Valve's ongoing effort to include Intel-based devices in the SteamOS ecosystem, following a prior focus on AMD hardware.
The release also adds support for the built-in controllers of Ayaneo's Pocket S2 and the Konkr Fit. Valve also states that older MSI Claw models and the OneXPlayer line of portable gaming PCs receive enhanced support.
SteamOS support for external hardware is expanding gradually. This latest beta update indicates Valve's commitment to increasing SteamOS compatibility across a diverse range of handheld gaming devices.
