Several videos showing the unboxing and setup of Valve's Steam Deck VR headset have appeared online. The footage was reportedly removed shortly after its appearance.
Valve, the company behind the Steam gaming platform, has had several videos demonstrating its upcoming virtual-reality headset, the Steam Deck VR, leak online. The footage, which captured the unboxing and setup process, appeared on the ARM Steam client following a software update.
Sources indicate the videos were quickly removed after their brief appearance. The Steam Deck VR headset, first revealed last year, is designed to stream games from a PC or run them locally. It features high-resolution displays, a powerful mobile processor, and a specified field of view.
These leaked visuals provide an early look at the physical setup and included accessories for the headset. The device aims to offer a versatile VR gaming experience, leveraging Valve's existing PC gaming ecosystem.
Valve has not yet officially commented on the leaked videos. The company previously announced the headset with specifications including per-eye LCD screens with 2160 x 2160 resolution and a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip.
