Vattenfall signs agreements for Danish offshore wind projects
Vattenfall and the Danish Energy Agency have finalized contracts for the development of the Hesselø and Holmsland offshore wind farms.

Vattenfall has concluded formal agreements with the Danish Energy Agency to proceed with the development of the Hesselø and Holmsland offshore wind projects. The projects were secured by the utility company following a competitive tender process held in August 2026.
As part of the finalized agreements, the project previously referred to as North Sea I Mid has been officially renamed Holmsland. The name change is intended to more accurately reflect the site's location off the Danish coast. The signing ceremony was attended by Vattenfall’s Denmark Country Manager, Anne Mette Traberg, and the Danish Energy Agency’s Director General, Adrian Lübbert.
The agreements mark the transition from the tender phase to the project development phase. These wind farms are expected to contribute significantly to Denmark's offshore wind capacity as the country continues to transition away from fossil fuel energy sources.
