Residents are deeply worried about the future prospects for younger generations, as 83 percent fear that young people may never be able to afford a home. This sentiment highlights significant anxiety about long-term housing accessibility.
The poll also pointed to government policies as a contributing factor. Ninety-one percent of respondents agreed that housing taxes in Ontario are too high and called for provincial reform. Furthermore, 83 percent supported cutting development charges to reduce building and purchasing costs.
Residents are demanding immediate action to lower taxes and development costs, aiming to restore a viable path to homeownership in Vaughan.
