Vaughn College Hosts International Conference on Digital Technologies

Vaughn College in Queens, New York, hosted the sixth annual International Conference on Digital Technologies and Applications (ICDTA) on October 9 and 10. The two-day hybrid event brought together researchers from over 30 countries to discuss the impact of digital technologies, soft computing, and intelligent systems globally.

The conference served as a bridge between advanced engineering and practical business applications. Keynote sessions featured speakers including Wayne J. Levin and Dr. Philip Ramsey from Predictum Inc., who addressed the economic costs of poor research, and Dr. Kaoutar El Maghraoui from IBM, discussing efficient inference for large language models (LLMs).

Further presentations included Dr. Lobna A. Said from Nile University on hardware-efficient FPGA accelerators for machine learning, and Dr. Amir Toliyat from the City University of New York on responsible AI for marketing decision support. Online participants attended these sessions as well as discussions on AI and digital transformation in healthcare, business, education, and other fields.

Sanaa Faquir, an assistant professor at Vaughn College and an organizer, highlighted the conference's role in enhancing the institution's global academic profile and advancing student professional growth. The event facilitated publication ties and opened avenues for future institutional partnerships and research grants.
