Vectiq Acquires PlayCanada.com Ahead of Alberta's Regulated Gaming Market Launch
Vectiq Inc. has acquired the iGaming brand PlayCanada.com from Catena Media. The purchase occurs as Alberta prepares to launch its regulated online gaming market.

Vectiq Inc. has acquired PlayCanada.com from Catena Media US, Inc., positioning itself to enter Canada's evolving regulated gambling landscape. This acquisition provides Vectiq with an established Canadian iGaming brand.
The deal comes as Alberta prepares to launch its regulated online gaming market for private operators on July 13, 2026. This opening makes Alberta the second major Canadian province to adopt such regulations, following Ontario's earlier establishment of iGaming Ontario.
PlayCanada.com, with a domain history dating back to 2000, has established a presence in the Canadian iGaming sphere. Vectiq's move signals an intent to capitalize on the newly regulated markets within Canada.
Catena Media operates as one of the largest iGaming affiliate networks globally. Specific terms of the acquisition between Vectiq and Catena Media have not been disclosed.
