Velocys unveils larger Fischer-Tropsch reactor for sustainable fuels projects
Velocys has released its new AlphaCore 800 microchannel reactor, designed to reduce the number of reactors and simplify configurations for larger-scale sustainable aviation fuel and e-fuels production.
HOUSTON and OXFORD, England – Sept. 21, 2026 – Velocys, a licensor of Fischer-Tropsch technology for sustainable fuels, has announced the release of its AlphaCore 800 microchannel reactor. This new model is designed to enhance the production of sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) and e-fuels at a larger scale.
The increased capacity of the AlphaCore 800 aims to reduce the overall reactor count and simplify Fischer-Tropsch configurations. This is expected to lower the cost per reactor unit, making large-scale sustainable fuel production more economically viable.
By increasing reactor capacity, Velocys seeks to make its Fischer-Tropsch technology more competitive for major projects. The company intends to reduce both capital expenditures and operating costs associated with these projects, which is critical for the growth of the sustainable fuels market.
