The German venture capital market experienced a significant upswing in the third quarter of 2026, according to the KfW Venture Capital Dashboard. The total deal volume reached around EUR 4.5 billion, marking a substantial increase of over one-third compared to the previous quarter.
This growth represents a notable acceleration in market activity. The Q3 volume was nearly four times higher than the EUR 1.2 billion recorded in the third quarter of 2025. Year-to-date, total investments have accumulated to approximately EUR 9.5 billion.
Cumulatively, the investment volume for the first three quarters of 2026 has already surpassed the entire annual volume for each of the years 2023 through 2025, which stood at approximately EUR 7 billion per year. This trend suggests a robust recovery and increased investor confidence in the German startup ecosystem.
