Verizon to Charge $10 Monthly for iPhone Call Handoff Feature
US carrier Verizon announced it will charge $10 per month for the new iPhone Handoff feature included in Apple iOS 27.
US telecommunications provider Verizon has announced it will implement a $10 monthly fee for Apple's new iPhone Handoff feature, introduced with iOS 27. This functionality allows users to share a single phone number across two iPhones, enabling seamless switching between devices.
Verizon states the iPhone Handoff feature is compatible with the iPhone Duo and iPhone 18 Pro series. Users can switch between compatible iPhones without requiring separate phone numbers for each device, though only one iPhone can be active with the number at any given time.
In comparison to other major carriers, Verizon's pricing is higher. Competitor T-Mobile offers a similar service for $5 per month, half of Verizon's proposed charge. AT&T, the third-largest US carrier, has not yet announced plans to support the iPhone Handoff functionality.
