Verlinvest, Mirchandani Family Increase Stakes in Epigamia in $20 Million Secondary Deal

D2C brand Epigamia has seen existing shareholders Verlinvest and the family of its late cofounder Rohan Mirchandani increase their stakes in the company through a secondary transaction valued at $20 million. The deal involved the purchase of shares from current investors, with no fresh capital infusion into the startup.

Sauce.vc also joined Epigamia's shareholder base as part of this transaction. Among the selling shareholders were DSG Consumer Partners and Deepika Padukone's investment firm KA Enterprises, who divested a portion of their stakes. Verlinvest has been a supporter of Epigamia since its Series A funding round in 2016.

Epigamia CEO Ritesh Gauba stated that the strengthened commitment from Verlinvest, the Mirchandani family, and the new institutional support from Sauce.vc serves as a strong endorsement of the business built and the opportunities ahead. Gauba added that the transaction provides Epigamia with a stable shareholder base to support its next phase of growth.

Founded in 2015, Epigamia began as a Greek yogurt brand and has since expanded its portfolio to include artisanal curd, snack packs, mishti doi, and smoothies. The company distributes its products through its website, e-commerce and quick commerce platforms, and offline retail stores, claiming a network of over 25,000 retail touchpoints across more than 30 cities.
