Vertafore introduces AI-driven change request tool for MGAs
Vertafore has released the Velocity Change Request Agent, an AI tool designed to automate policy change processing and increase efficiency for managing general agents.

Insurance technology firm Vertafore has launched its Velocity Change Request Agent, a new tool integrated into its Surefyre platform. The software utilizes artificial intelligence to analyze policy change requests, extract pertinent data, and prepare documents for review, aiming to reduce manual administrative tasks for managing general agents (MGAs).
The agent functions by comparing renewal and endorsement applications against existing policy records. It then summarizes the necessary updates in plain language, allowing underwriters to focus on risk evaluation rather than cross-referencing lines of text. According to internal testing conducted by Vertafore, the technology reduced review and documentation time by 70% while achieving a 98% reduction in processing errors.
"Underwriting judgment is the scarcest resource in an MGA, and too much of it goes to comparison work technology can handle," said Emily McGinn, general manager of MGA and Wholesale at Vertafore. By delegating data extraction to the AI, the firm seeks to increase total underwriting capacity.
This release expands Vertafore’s portfolio of AI agents, which are designed to support the full insurance lifecycle. The company continues to push its Digital Underwriter initiative, which focuses on embedding AI agents directly into established workflows to drive operational efficiency.
