Vestas secures 614 MW wind turbine orders in Western Australia

Wind turbine manufacturer Vestas has secured two new orders in Western Australia, totaling 614 megawatts (MW) in capacity. The contracts cover the Parron Maam Marang and Kondinin wind farms and have been added to the company's third-quarter 2026 order intake.

The projects will utilize a combined total of 99 V162-6.2 MW turbines from Vestas' EnVentus platform. Atmos Renewables has ordered 78 turbines for the 484 MW Parron Maam Marang wind farm, while Foresight Group has ordered 21 turbines for the 130 MW Kondinin wind farm. Both orders include 30-year Active Output Management 5000 (AOM 5000) service agreements.

Turbine deliveries are scheduled for 2027, with commissioning expected in 2028. Vestas states that these projects will complement its existing portfolio in Western Australia, including the Warradarge, King Rocks, and Waddi wind farms. The company indicates the projects will support regional energy security, affordable electricity, and the expansion of renewable energy.

Purvin Patel, Vestas' Regional President for Asia Pacific, commented that the orders demonstrate the suitability of the EnVentus platform for Australian market and site conditions. He added that Australia remains an important market for Vestas.
