VIAVI Achieves CMMC Level 2 Certification
VIAVI Solutions has earned Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) Level 2 for its aerospace and defense product lines. The certification reinforces its position as a trusted partner for U.S. government and defense contractors.
CHANDLER, Ariz. – VIAVI Solutions LLC, the Aerospace and Defense division of VIAVI Solutions Inc., announced it has successfully completed its Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) Level 2. This certification covers the company's radio test, avionics, synthetic and modular, and Position, Navigation, and Timing (PNT) product lines.
The CMMC standard was developed by the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) to ensure that cybersecurity controls and processes adequately protect Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) residing on Defense Industrial Base (DIB) systems and networks, safeguarding national security. The certification is mandatory for all entities doing business with the DoD.
The CMMC assessment was conducted by A-LIGN, a C3PAO (CMMC Third Party Assessment Organization) experienced in federal assessments. VIAVI stated that the certification strengthens its role as a trusted partner to government, defense, and national security entities.
Doug Russell, Senior Vice President and General Manager, Aerospace and Defense, VIAVI, commented that achieving CMMC Level 2 reflects the company's dedication to safeguarding sensitive information vital to national security. The company plans to extend the certification to its Inertial Labs product lines, acquired in 2025. This achievement is a key step in meeting the rigorous cybersecurity requirements for contractors within the U.S. defense sector.
