Viettel migrates 100 million mobile subscribers to proprietary cloud-native system
Viettel High Tech has transitioned its entire subscriber base to the vOCS 4.0 platform without reported service interruptions over a three-month period.

Viettel High Technology Industries Corporation (Viettel High Tech) successfully completed the migration of over 100 million mobile subscribers to its proprietary cloud-native charging system, vOCS 4.0. The transition, which involved moving approximately 5,000 different tariff plans, was finalized within a three-month timeframe.
The project marks a shift for the Vietnamese telecommunications group, which has opted to replace third-party charging platforms with internal technology developed by its subsidiary. According to the company, the migration was executed without service downtime, a technical milestone for a network of this scale.
The vOCS 4.0 platform is designed to handle large-scale billing and service provisioning within a cloud-native architecture. By controlling the entire stack, Viettel aims to reduce operational costs associated with vendor licensing and accelerate the implementation of new service configurations for its customer base.
Following this deployment, the firm plans to assess the scalability of vOCS 4.0 for international markets, as it seeks to reduce reliance on global network infrastructure providers.
