Vigo, Spain – Hospital Meixoeiro in Vigo has successfully treated its first prostate cancer patient utilizing the Raypilot System. This advanced treatment method, known as Augmented Stereotactic Body Radiation Therapy (ASBRT), enhances the precision of radiation therapy.
The introduction of this treatment followed the installation of the Raypilot System at the hospital and the comprehensive training of its clinical team. These preparatory steps were completed earlier this year. On September 14, the hospital's clinical team initiated the first patient treatment with this new technology.
The implementation of the Raypilot System expands access to advanced radiotherapy techniques within the region. A rental agreement for the system with the hospital was previously established, enabling the facility to offer more accurate treatment options to its cancer patients.
