VinFast Focuses on European Electric Vehicle Market Growth
Electric vehicles represented 30.5% of new car sales across 16 European markets in August. VinFast is pursuing a three-pillar strategy focused on product, public transport, and local presence.

Fully electric vehicles accounted for 30.5% of new car registrations in 16 key European markets in August, marking a significant shift as electric mobility becomes mainstream. This growth is particularly evident in major markets like France and Germany, indicating a rapid adoption of electric transport.
VinFast, the Vietnamese automaker, has structured its European market entry around three core elements: products designed for European consumer priorities, expansion into the public transport sector, and the establishment of a localized commercial and service network. The company's VF 6 compact SUV is positioned to meet European drivers' demands for efficiency, design, and accessibility.
Beyond passenger vehicles, VinFast is entering the public transport market with its EB 8 and EB 12 electric buses. The EB 12 has achieved full European certification, demonstrating compliance with the region's stringent safety and environmental standards. This move aligns with increasing regulatory pressure across the EU for zero-emission public transportation.
The company is also emphasizing a localized footprint by building a network of dealerships and service providers across Europe. This partner-based approach aims to foster customer trust and ensure reliable aftersales support. VinFast states its European presence is a long-term commitment to becoming a dependable brand in the expanding electric vehicle landscape.
