Viola Davis Receives Kering's Women in Motion Award at Cannes

Kering and the Cannes Film Festival presented the eighth annual "Women In Motion" Award to American actress and producer Viola Davis on Sunday, May 22, 2022. The ceremony took place at the Place de la Castre in Cannes.

Upon receiving the award, Davis delivered a speech emphasizing the importance of career progression and opportunities for women. The "Young Talent Award" was also presented to Swedish director Ninja Thyberg at the event.

The "Women In Motion" program, launched by Kering in 2015, aims to highlight women's contributions to cinema and has expanded to include photography, art, choreography, and music. The initiative seeks to address gender inequalities within the arts.
