Virtuix has received a notice of allowance for its 27th U.S. patent, focusing on proprietary footwear technology for omni-directional treadmills.
Virtuix Holdings Inc. (NASDAQ: VTIX) has bolstered its intellectual property portfolio with the allowance of its 27th U.S. patent. The latest filing covers specialized footwear technology designed to improve traction and movement for users of the company’s omni-directional treadmill systems.
This intellectual property reinforces the foundation of Virtuix’s Omni One platform, which is designed to integrate physical movement into virtual reality environments. The company now holds 27 patents, with five additional applications currently pending, encompassing key technical areas including motion tracking, hardware design, and content integration.
CEO Jan Goetgeluk stated that the patent expansion is intended to solidify the company's technological advantage in the simulation market. Virtuix has increasingly focused on applications beyond consumer gaming, targeting sectors such as defense training, healthcare, and enterprise research, where full-body simulation is a growing requirement.
The company’s strategy involves utilizing this robust patent portfolio to establish barriers to entry as it continues to deploy its systems across both commercial and federal government contracts. Ongoing research and development remains a core component of the firm's long-term growth objectives.
