Visa opens six technology hubs in Singapore

Visa has opened six global capability hubs at its new Solution Center in Paya Lebar Green, Singapore. The facility currently employs over 1,500 professionals tasked with developing infrastructure for applied AI, stablecoins, programmable payments, and agentic commerce.

The hubs are designed to house specialized teams focusing on cybersecurity, quantum computing, and alternative payment methods. The company stated that it intends to continue expanding its engineering and innovation workforce in the country.

This expansion follows the implementation of a regulatory framework by the Monetary Authority of Singapore regarding stablecoins pegged to the Singapore dollar or G10 currencies. The regulatory move aims to ensure stability and transparency in digital currency transactions.

Visa is collaborating with regional partners including DBS, Nium, and StraitsX. The company has previously utilized USDC settlement to facilitate cross-border payments, positioning these new hubs to play a central role in its future digital money strategy.
