McInerney also indicated that artificial intelligence (AI) is a factor in the company's evolving strategy, helping to accelerate transformation and reshape how work is done at Visa. Savings from the layoffs are expected to be reinvested in areas such as commercial and money-movement solutions, and consumer payments.
