vivo debuts Baidu Maps dual-sync feature in OriginOS 7
vivo has announced a new OriginOS 7 feature that synchronizes Baidu Maps navigation data between a smartphone and a car's infotainment system.
Chinese technology firm vivo has introduced a new smartphone feature aimed at enhancing the driving experience. The upcoming OriginOS 7 will integrate dual-sync functionality for Baidu Maps navigation. This allows users to initiate navigation on their phone, with destination and route information mirrored in real-time to the vehicle's infotainment system.
Users will also be able to view and modify navigation details from either the phone or the car's display. This dual-screen capability intends to offer a more flexible and seamless navigation experience while driving.
The feature is set to be part of the OriginOS 7 update, which vivo is preparing for release. The company has also detailed other aspects of the new operating system, including a new "liquid motion" effect, improved performance, and long-term durability testing lasting up to 72 months.
The update also promises significant gains in application launch speeds and interface responsiveness through enhanced computing technologies. Storage optimization is another key component, with potential space savings of up to 110GB on larger storage configurations.
