Vivo X500 Pro Max Launches With 17 EV Dynamic Range

Vivo has introduced its new X500 series smartphones to the Chinese market, with the Pro Max variant emphasizing enhanced photographic capabilities. The device incorporates Sony's new Lytia L910 image sensor, which is the first mobile sensor to feature LOFIC technology. This sensor enables what Vivo claims is a "true 17 EV ultra-high dynamic range," surpassing the specifications of competitors like Xiaomi.

The X500 Pro Max also includes new silicon from MediaTek, supporting high-quality slow-motion video recording at 4K resolution and 240 frames per second. The primary camera features a 50-megapixel sensor measuring 1/1.28 inches. Additionally, the phone is equipped with a 200-megapixel telephoto lens offering 3.7x optical zoom, and all three new X500 models support Vivo's teleconverter lenses.

The expanded dynamic range allows the phone to capture detail in both very bright and dark areas simultaneously, improving image quality under challenging lighting conditions. The enhanced slow-motion capabilities also present new creative avenues for video content creation.

The launch of the Vivo X500 Pro Max in China underscores the company's continued investment in mobile photography and the competitive landscape of smartphone camera sensor and processing technologies.
