voestalpine Doubles Truck Beam Production Capacity in Indiana

Steel and technology group voestalpine has officially opened a new production facility at its Jeffersonville, Indiana site, doubling the location’s production capacity for high-quality longitudinal beams used in class 6, 7 and 8 trucks.

The company has invested approximately EUR 70 million (around USD 80 million) in the expansion. The new facility adds approximately 15,000 square metres of production space and includes new, state-of-the-art manufacturing equipment.

The plant is currently in its start-up phase, with full production expected by mid-2027. Once fully operational, the site’s total production capacity will reach 80,000 tons. The expansion will create 110 new jobs, with 37 positions already filled.

This investment supports voestalpine’s local-for-local strategy, focusing on investments in attractive regions close to international customers. It strengthens the company's position as a supplier of special pipes and profiles for the North American commercial vehicle industry and enables the fulfillment of long-term supply contracts with major truck manufacturers.
