Voith Donates $8,000 to Support STEM Education Initiatives in Pennsylvania
Voith has awarded a total of $8,000 through its #VoithCares program to two nonprofit educational initiatives in Pennsylvania. The donations will fund a high school robotics club and a county history center's mobile learning program.
Heidenheim, Germany – Voith has provided $8,000 in donations to two educational non-profits serving students in York and Adams counties, Pennsylvania, through its #VoithCares program. The Bermudian Springs High School Robotics Club and the York County History Center will each receive $4,000.
The funding aims to support hands-on Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) learning and manufacturing education. The robotics club plans to use its grant to acquire updated equipment and materials, enabling students to design, build, and code robots for competitions. This initiative exposes participants to practical technical skills and potential careers in STEM fields.
The York County History Center will utilize its $4,000 donation to develop a new "Travelling Trunk" program. This initiative will equip staff with portable educational materials focused on STEM, manufacturing, and decarbonization, designed for direct delivery to local schools. The program specifically targets schools that may lack the resources for field trips to the History Center.
Voith employees Seth Smith and Thomas Ort nominated the respective programs. The #VoithCares initiative supports non-profit organizations where employees actively volunteer. In the 2025/2026 fiscal year, the program supported 12 non-profit organizations globally. Voith has a long-standing presence in York, Pennsylvania, and aims to strengthen community ties and encourage employee volunteerism through these contributions.
