Private equity firm Voland Partners has invested €3.5 million in Biila Solutions, a Finnish company focused on car logistics. The investment aims to accelerate the technological development of Biila's platform services and support its internationalization efforts.
Aapeli Kallunki, founder and CEO of Biila Solutions, stated that the company's growth accelerated in Finland during the COVID-19 pandemic. An initial expansion attempt into Sweden was disrupted by the pandemic. Kallunki believes the timing is now right to bring in an investor partner with expertise in technology development, scaling, and internationalization.
The company's platform utilizes machine learning and artificial intelligence to optimize the supply and demand of car transport capacity within the automotive trade with enhanced efficiency. The objective is to improve service speed and punctuality for customers while reducing unnecessary and environmentally impactful journeys.
Jyrki Laune, founding partner at Voland Partners, sees significant potential in Biila's solution, suggesting it will revolutionize car logistics and benefit both the environment and society. Laune also highlighted Biila's scalability potential outside Finland, as well as the company's entrepreneurial culture and values, which align with Voland Partners' investment criteria.
