Volkswagen restructures Chinese sales network to integrate Volkswagen Anhui
Volkswagen is merging its China-based electric vehicle venture, Volkswagen Anhui, into its broader national sales and service infrastructure.
Volkswagen is adjusting its retail and after-sales strategy in China to integrate Volkswagen Anhui, the group’s dedicated electric vehicle joint venture. As part of this transition, 20 existing FAW-Volkswagen dealerships have been authorized to sell vehicles from the Anhui portfolio. Furthermore, select import dealerships have transitioned to a multi-brand model, offering both imported models and those produced by the Anhui unit.
Operational changes also extend to the after-sales network. Approximately 40 of Volkswagen’s import-dedicated service centers have secured authorization to maintain Volkswagen Anhui vehicles, with the company aiming to cover the remaining service locations. This integration is designed to improve service accessibility for owners of the newer electric models.
Volkswagen Anhui operates as the group’s third vehicle joint venture in China and its first focused exclusively on new energy vehicles. The company reported 1,597 deliveries in October, marking a 52 percent year-over-year increase. By leveraging existing retail infrastructure, Volkswagen seeks to accelerate the market adoption of its localized electric vehicle lineup.
