Volkswagen to Showcase New Concept Car Testing Efficiency Limits

Automaker Volkswagen has announced it will present its new Mission Efficiency concept car on Thursday, September 14. The new model is designed to test the interaction between aerodynamics, energy efficiency, and practical electric mobility.
The vehicle will undertake a record-breaking journey of approximately 780 kilometers from Wolfsburg to Vienna. Volkswagen stated the car's mission is to explore the limits of what is achievable for a fully functional everyday vehicle based on production technology.
Further details about the new concept car are expected to be revealed at the upcoming presentation. Volkswagen has previously focused on extreme efficiency, notably with the XL1 model launched in 2013. The XL1 achieved fuel consumption as low as 0.9 liters per 100 kilometers, making it one of the most fuel-efficient cars globally at the time.
The XL1 featured a 0.8-liter two-cylinder turbodiesel engine paired with an electric motor, demonstrating the company's commitment to exploring advanced engineering for fuel economy and lightweight construction.
