Volkswagen officially unveiled its new all-electric SUV, the ID. Tiguan, targeting the mainstream mid-size SUV market. Pre-sales for the vehicle are set to begin in Europe on October 13th, with a starting price of 42,695 euros. The ID. Tiguan is slated to go on sale in early 2027.
The exterior design of the ID. Tiguan adopts Volkswagen's latest "Pure Positive" language, presenting a more rugged and powerful stance compared to the softer crossover styling of the ID.4 and ID.5. Inside, the SUV features upgraded materials and a redesigned cabin layout for improved quality and convenience. A notable addition is the availability of a passenger-side entertainment screen.
The ID. Tiguan will be offered in three powertrain configurations: a 140 kW (190 hp) rear-wheel-drive model with a 58 kWh battery, a 210 kW (286 hp) rear-wheel-drive model with a 77 kWh battery, and a 220 kW (299 hp) 4MOTION all-wheel-drive variant with a 77 kWh battery. The WLTP-rated driving range can reach up to 600 km.
Inside, the cabin features a 10-inch digital instrument cluster and a 15-inch central infotainment screen, complemented by the new passenger display. Volkswagen has also reincorporated physical buttons for frequently used functions, such as climate controls and window operations, aiming to enhance usability. The vehicle comes equipped with various driver assistance systems, including standard one-pedal driving and the new Connected Travel Assist.
