Volvo Autonomous Solutions hauls over 3 million tonnes autonomously

Volvo Autonomous Solutions (V.A.S.) has reached a significant milestone, autonomously hauling more than 3 million tonnes of material within the European mining and quarrying segment.

This achievement underscores the capability of autonomous transportation to deliver consistent and reliable value to customers. Key sites where the autonomous hauling has taken place include Brønnøy Kalk in Norway and Boliden Garpenberg in Sweden.

Autonomous hauling operations for Brønnøy Kalk began in 2023. A milestone of 1 million tonnes autonomously hauled was reached at the Brønnøy Kalk site as early as 2025, indicating rapid scaling of the technology.

V.A.S.'s technology facilitates more efficient and safer material transport in challenging environments, while reducing human exposure to hazardous tasks.
