Volvo Cars and Belgian governments agree on support for Ghent plant
Volvo Cars has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Belgian and Flemish governments for support measures aimed at strengthening the long-term competitiveness of its Ghent manufacturing plant.
Volvo Cars has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Belgian federal government and the regional government of Flanders. This agreement outlines support measures intended to enhance the long-term competitiveness of the company's manufacturing facility in Ghent.
The package agreed upon includes up to EUR 119 million in support. These funds are designated for industrial, innovation, and ecological initiatives, along with financing programs and other measures. The objective is to enable Volvo Cars to proceed with strategic investments in the Ghent plant.
