Volvo Cars Appoints Skoda CEO Klaus Zellmer as New President and CEO
Volvo Cars has appointed Klaus Zellmer, former CEO of Skoda, as its new president and chief executive officer. He is expected to take up the position by October 1, 2027.
Gothenburg, Sweden – Volvo Cars' board of directors has appointed Klaus Zellmer as the company's new president and chief executive officer. Zellmer is expected to assume his duties by October 1, 2027. Current CEO Håkan Samuelsson will work with the board to ensure a smooth handover.
Zellmer brings over 30 years of experience in the automotive industry. Most recently, he served as chairman of the board and CEO of Skoda Auto. Under his leadership, Skoda has become one of Europe's best-selling automotive brands.
Prior to his role at Skoda, Zellmer was a member of the management board for Volkswagen Passenger Cars, responsible for marketing, sales, and after-sales services. His career also includes over two decades at Porsche, where he held various senior management positions, including CEO of Porsche Germany and CEO of Porsche North America.
