Vortex Companies Acquires UK Contractor Torrent Drainage Services
Vortex Companies has acquired UK-based trenchless contractor Torrent Drainage Services. The acquisition expands the field capabilities of Vortex subsidiary McAllister, strengthening its project delivery in the UK.
HOUSTON, Sept. 30, 2026 – Vortex Companies, a provider of trenchless infrastructure rehabilitation solutions, announced the acquisition of Torrent Drainage Services Limited, a UK-based trenchless contractor. The move is intended to bolster Vortex's project delivery capabilities in the United Kingdom.
The acquisition is timed to align with a significant investment and delivery cycle in the UK's water sector. Vortex CEO Mike Vellano stated that Torrent brings an experienced team familiar with McAllister, Vortex's existing UK subsidiary, its customers, and its operational standards. This addition is expected to enhance Vortex's capacity and flexibility for project execution.
Torrent Drainage Services specializes in cured-in-place pipe (CIPP) lining, patch installations and repairs, sewer cleaning, CCTV inspection, and robotic lateral reinstatement. The Torrent team has previously worked alongside McAllister on rehabilitation projects in the UK.
Torrent's operations will be integrated into McAllister, increasing the subsidiary's capacity for self-performing trenchless rehabilitation work and extending its field resources across the UK. The integration aims to improve coordination from project planning through execution and provide customers with broader access to trenchless expertise, equipment, and technical support.
